This clear liuli glass statue depicts Guanyin seated in the royal ease pose on a sculpted rock base. The plain finish brings attention to the flowing robes, jewelry, hand position, and calm expression.
Meaning & Symbolism
Guanyin is the East Asian form of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva whose name evokes hearing the cries of the world. The Lotus Sutra describes this compassionate figure appearing in many different forms according to what each being can understand. In China, those stories gradually shaped Guanyin into one of the most familiar and intimate presences in Buddhist art.
The royal ease pose belongs to the Water-Moon Guanyin tradition. Seated on a rocky ledge with one knee raised, Guanyin looks relaxed but never withdrawn. The body can rise at any moment, so rest and readiness occupy the same posture. The moon reflected in water became a fitting image for this form: beautiful and clearly visible, yet impossible to seize, appearing wherever the water is still enough to receive it.
Clear liuli glass extends that metaphor through the entire statue. Robes, jewelry, face, and rock base appear as light moves through them, then soften again when the angle changes. The figure does not dominate a room by mass or color. It gathers attention quietly, like a reflection that becomes visible only after the surface settles.
Meaning for Daily Life
This Guanyin is suited to a room where you want quiet listening to shape the atmosphere. The royal ease pose joins rest with readiness: the figure is composed, yet able to rise when suffering is heard. Clear liuli glass reinforces that sense of receptive stillness. Place it near a meditation seat, reading area, or entrance as a reminder to listen fully before responding with compassion.
