This hand-assembled 108-bead mala combines yak-bone barrel beads with blue lapis lazuli inlay details and silver-tone accents. The 10 × 8 mm barrel shape creates a repeated architectural pattern across the strand, while the blue inlay adds small points of color.
Form and cultural context
Many Buddhist traditions use 108-bead malas to count mantra recitations, prayers, or breaths. Bone beadwork and blue stone inlay also appear in Himalayan jewelry and decorative objects. “Silver-tone” describes the appearance of the metal accents and does not mean solid sterling silver.
